Signs indicating toxic intensity on the packing of pesticides.
Different types of triangles are given on the packing of each pesticides as shown in the photos below. These triangles indicate how toxic the product is on the packaging of each pesticide. According to government regulations, such triangles must be on the packaging of each pesticides. We are giving more information about it below.
1) Red triangle [packing of pesticides]
pesticides with red triangles fall into the “highly toxic” group. Above this triangle is written POISON. Even if only 1 to 50 milligrams of this component per kilogram of weight of any animal or human enters the body, it is fatal. This group includes products like methyl parathion, monocrotophos, ferrate, zinc phosphide, etc.
2) Yellow triangle [packing of pesticides]
pesticides with this triangle also fall into the “more toxic” group. Like the red triangle, this triangle has POISON written on it. 51 to 500 mg per kg of animal / human weight can be fatal. The products in this group contain fenvalerate, carbofuron, chlorpyrifos, cypermethrin, etc.
3) Blue triangle [packing of pesticides]
pesticides with blue triangles also fall into the “moderately toxic” group. Above this triangle is written DANGER. If 501 to 5000 mg per kg of animal / human weight enters the body, it can be fatal. The products in this group contain dicofol, carbaryl, malathion, carbendazim, glyphosate, etc.
4) Green triangle [packing of pesticides]
pesticides with green triangles also fall into the “slightly toxic” group. Above this triangle is written CAUTION. It can be fatal if the component per kg of animal / human body exceeds 5000 mg.
It is better to start with less toxic pesticides in the early stages of the crop. In fact, if you use products with green triangle at the beginning, then blue, yellow and finally red triangle if needed, pests and diseases can be controlled to the right extent. However, in doing so, you have to decide how much toxic product you want to use based on their prevalence. Otherwise there will be too much outbreak in the beginning and when you use the least toxic product, the problems will increase. Products with red triangles should be used sparingly if possible, so as not to harm the environment.
